Balvay Estate Agents was created from real experience.
Peter has always been devoted to the property industry. His passion for buildings, architecture, and understanding how to maximise the value and purpose of a property has shaped his entire career. Coming from a construction background, with his father running a successful construction company for over 30 years, property has always been part of his life.
He began his career in the 1990s at Chestertons in central London, working across lettings, property management, and sales, before qualifying in property law and valuation and working as a property valuer.
In the early 2000s, he moved into construction project management, delivering projects ranging from residential extensions and loft conversions through to large-scale commercial and national developments. This gave him in-depth knowledge across planning, tendering, contractor management, health and safety, and delivering projects on time and within scope.
In the 2010s, Peter and Edith built their own property investment portfolio, developing experience across HMOs, buy-to-let properties, and serviced accommodation. Within a few years, they created a versatile portfolio designed to maximise value and performance.
However, when they looked for an estate agent to manage their properties, they faced the same frustrations many landlords experience.
Large agencies managing hundreds of properties failed to provide:

- Reliable maintenance handling
Despite paying for full management, they still had to deal with tenant issues themselves, including weekend maintenance calls.
That experience led to one clear decision.
